We have decided to end our Overwatch 2 team operations because continuing was no longer financially sustainable.
After evaluating the upcoming year and assessing our position in the scene, it became clear that the financial challenges of the Overwatch landscape, coupled with not being selected for the Overwatch Champion Series (OWCS) partner team program, left us no viable path forward.
While the chapter might be over, it certainly will not be forgotten. We are immensely proud of the successful 2024 season, from our consistent Top 2 placements and never-ending EMEA rivalry with SSG to all the LAN tournaments we experienced as a team. We want to thank everyone who played a part in this journey, especially our talented and hard-working players. We wish them all the best in the future.
Eemeli "Woomera" Ikonen, the acting General Manager for ENCE OW2, says goodbye to the team with a heavy heart: “I truly believe that the entire team and its staff gave their all over the past year to ensure this eventful journey could continue. Sadly, despite everyone's hard work and dedication, things didn't work out as we had hoped.
A heartfelt thank you to all our fans who supported us tirelessly throughout the year. To the players, I wish you nothing but success in whatever the future holds – you were incredible from start to finish!”
Looking ahead, ENCE will continue to monitor the scene and hope to remain connected with our community and fans through hosting activities, such as possible community events on FACEIT.
Thank you;
