The first player to be locked on our Academy roster for the upcoming season is the young AWP, Paavo "podi" Heiskanen.
As we began the process of getting ENCE Academy ready for 2024, it became clear that we wanted to continue with Paavo "podi" Heiskanen for the upcoming season. Since joining ENCE Academy in 2022, podi has shown immense talent and made his name known even on the international playing field.
Switching his role from a rifler to an AWPer when joining ENCE, podi quickly proved his merit with the Big Green. He has consistently delivered on the server and claimed his place as one of the most promising Finnish AWPers.
Our Academy Lead, Eemeli "Woomera" Ikonen, has followed podi’s development closely. “It has been a privilege to see the growth of this young and super-talented player over the past year and a half, literally from the front row. podi has been a vital part of our Academy team, and he has played a significant role in our success. Now, we can proudly announce that our journey together continues.
The wonder boy joined our Academy Program as a relatively unknown name to the bigger audience, but it wasn't long before his skills were recognized in the scene at an international level. The story of podi is still in its early days, and now, with CS2, it's time to put the next gear in.
As a program, I feel we still have a lot to give. We will continue to create a strong and sustainable foundation for podi and his career. Let’s go podi – viedään nämä!”
